Unlike a lot of air conditioning companies, UCC does not have any affiliation with any of the air conditioning manufacturers, because of this we pride ourselves on being able to select the best system to suit your style, décor and individual taste from a wide range of reputable manufacturers products.
In our selection process we look at the correct cooling/heating outputs, type of unit, aesthetics of the unit, reliability of the unit and price of the unit.
We would generally propose at least two different types, giving you the customer the opportunity to choose the style and type, in the comfort of your our home, without any pressure of a salesman looking over our shoulder.
That is unless you want to see someone to explain your options, if that is the case we are only to pleased to present your quotation in person, we don’t employ salesmen, so the person presenting your quotation, will be a qualified design engineer and he will be able to answer any questions that you may have.
There are three different types of air conditioning unit
Mobile Air Conditioning Units
These units are a cheap and cheerful method to cooling a space, they usually have a limited amount of cooling capacity, generally to small for your average conservatory, but enough for a bedroom or lounge area (approximately 20 sq metres of floor area).
They do however require a 100mm diameter duct to vent to outside either through a window or a wall venting kit (similar to a tumble drier).
Window Unit
These units can either be installed as the name implies through a window or through a wall, they can heat/cool up to approximately 4.5kw, this is large enough for your average sized of conservatory. They are limited to being fitted to an outside wall.
Split System
High Wall Mounted
Low Wall Console Unit
Wall/Ceiling Unit
These types of units are installed in the room that is going to be heated/cooled, they are connected to an external condensate unit that can either stand on firm base a ground level or they can be wall mounted, they are inter connected by small bore copper pipework and control electric wiring.
Typical Example of the External Condensate Unit
As these units are connected to each other by pipes and wires they can fitted anywhere with few limitations, outputs range from 1kw to 14kw, bigger enough to cater for the largest rooms. Ducted units are available to hide the internal units away if required.
These units are also available as multi-split systems where multiple internal units can be fitted to one external condensate unit
Multi-Split System
Multi-Split systems are limited to heating or cooling to each internal unit, these units can not heat in one room and cool in another simultaneously.
Packaged Units
Unlike the split systems these units do not have an internal and an external unit, both these items are combined into one complete unit.
This unit is ideal for cooling either a bedroom or a lounge area, it is limited to just one room per unit.
